I will never forget watching Jo Sullivan Loesser (the widow of this classic work’s composer and lyricist, Frank Loesser) leap to her feet at the curtain call of opening night at the Paper Mill Playhouse. When I met her after the show, she said only nine words to me: “My husband would have loved your production, young man.”
