Director's Note

The 2012 revival of bare (with a revised book by Jon Hartmere and additional songs by Lynne Shankel) was created with the blessing of the original composer, Damon Intrabartolo. The revival was stunningly controversial because an entire generation of fans of the original production deemed this revival sacrilege because changes were made to the original script.

Interestingly, on the Bare: A Pop Opera Wikipedia page, the 2012 revival has been curiously omitted. What I’ll never forget was the new generation of fans that discovered our interpretation and repeatedly came to see the production when it played 21 previews and 65 performances at New World Stages in NYC.
